Steampunk provides the perfect environment to dream about The Moon and the Stars and Assemblage Art is the perfect medium to express that fascination. The words that top this piece, “reality has limits – imagination is boundless” fit the feeling of wonder it inspires.

Rust effects were used liberally as well as layers of numerous paints (Finnabair’s Art Alchemy) and spritzes (Lindy’s Stamp Gang). The polymer clay moon and embossed tiles were handmade by yours truly. With embellishments, the depth of the piece is 1 1/2″.

Vintage found objects include: necklace links, buttons, chain, beads, earrings, antique brass lure, and miniature frame. Newer (or new) elements include (but not limited to): word charm, Victorian hand, gears, resin cabochons, paper/fabric flowers, round filagrees, metal crowns, stars, bottle cap, and miscellaneous embellishments.

Attached hangers for wall hanging. Although most of my Assemblage Art pieces can be framed, I don’t suggest framing The Moon and the Stars. Embellishments come to the very edge as part of its intricate design. This piece would also display nicely on an easel.
