What discoveries could a moon make if it took the time to look? This 3D polymer clay moon sitting on a winged heart appears to be doing just that and contemplating its find. Perched on a 4.0″ x 4.0″ stretched canvas, its background was first textured with stenciled dimensional paste and then painted and spritzed with numerous paints before finishing off with wax. Placing it in my Mini Art category, it’s a fantasy piece with strong steampunk overtones.

Assemblage describes the art of creating a larger art piece from smaller objects. My assemblage art is on canvas rather than free standing. The Mini Assemblage Art line is crafted in the same manner as the larger assemblage art pieces – just with fewer items. Here the embellishments include the word tag, polymer clay heart and moon (fashioned by yours truly), wings, and crown. Its depth with embellishments is 1.50″
