A single found object dominates this piece – the girl and her kite. She once was part of a vintage mobile I discovered at an estate sale. There was no hope for the mobile but great mixed media possibilities for the girl!

Found vintage objects include: beads, lace, buttons, beaded flower, earring, brooch, necklace segments, and of course, the girl and kite. New objects are too numerous to detail but include flowers, brass findings, filigreed round findings, and flower cabochons.

I crafted polymer clay word tiles to carry the message “her words are her wings… she’s flying” by A.D Posey.

On a stretched canvas, the background contains layers of scrapbook paper, numerous paints and sprays, and stenciled modeling clay. The overall depth is 3″.

I suggest hanging as is (utilizing canvas framework) but will include a sawtooth hanger for installation in case you desire a separate hanger. Although I prefer the no-frame look, this is ready for framing. I occasionally frame an Assemblage piece and the end result can be stunning.
